Traveling Information

By plane

Linz Blue Danube Airport (LNZ) currently offers daily direct scheduled flights to Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Vienna, London, and Zürich. Airlines offering connections to Linz include Austrian Airlines, AirAlps, Lufthansa, and Ryanair. See http://www.flughafen-linz.at for details.

Nearby international airports are Munich (about 3 hours by car or train to Linz) and Vienna (about 2 hours by car or train to Linz).

How to get to the campus from the airport: A regular shuttle-bus from the airport to the central train station (approximately 30 min) runs only on working days. It is thus suggested to take a taxi to the Johannes Kepler University (fare is about €30).

By train

How to get to the campus from the central railway station ("Hauptbahnhof"): Linz central railway station is located downtown. To reach the university by tram, first take tram Line 3. Then, at any stop until "Rudolfstrasse", change to Line 1 or 2 headed towards "Universität" which is the final stop.

By car

From Vienna, Salzburg, and Munich take motorway A1 to exit "Knoten Linz".
From Prague take E 55 to Unterweitersdorf.
From Graz/Klagenfurt, take motorway A9 (Pyhrnautobahn) to exit, "Voralpenkreuz", motorway A1 to exit, "Knoten Linz".
From Passau (Germany) take A8 (Innkreisautobahn) to exit "Knoten Wels", A1 to "Knoten Linz".

How to get to the campus by car:
From "Knoten Linz" continue on motorway A7 (Mühlkreisautobahn), take exit 15 "Linz/Dornach" and follow the green signs to "Universität Linz".  See also the map on the conference location page.

Places in Linz can be easily reached by public transport (Linz AG Linien).
