Call for Workshop Proposals

Overview

The 20th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE 2005) invites submissions of workshop proposals. The workshops co-located with the conference should provide an opportunity for exchanging views, advancing ideas, and discussing preliminary results on topics related to software engineering research and applications. Workshops should not be seen as an alternative forum for presenting full research papers. The workshops co-located with the conference will be held before the conference on the 7th or 8th of November 2005. A workshop may last one or two days.

Proposals for organising workshops should be prepared following the guidelines below.

Submission of proposals

Workshop proposals should be written in English, not exceed 3 pages and submitted in PDF format via email to both workshop chairs. They should also:

Note that the workshop co-chairs will consider the preference of workshop dates specified by the organisers, but the acceptance of a workshop proposal does not guarantee adherence to the requested date/time. The workshop co-chairs will assume that workshop proposers will be able to run a workshop on any of the days that ASE 2005 has reserved for workshops.

Review Process

Workshop proposals will be reviewed by the ASE 2005 workshop co-chairs. Acceptance will be based on an evaluation of the workshop's potential for generating useful results, the timeliness and expected interest in the topic, the organiser's ability to lead a successful workshop, and potential for attracting sufficient number of participants.

Accepted workshops must adhere to the common deadlines listed below for submissions of papers, acceptance of papers, and preparation of proceedings

Publication

Organisers of accepted workshops will be responsible for producing the workshop proceedings. Workshop proceedings will be assigned an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) by the conference if required by the organisers.

Registration and Location

Workshops will be held at Renaissance Long Beach Hotel, Long Beach, California, USA. All workshop participants and organisers must register for a workshop. The registration fee will be set by the organisers of each workshop and the conference committee and should cover the costs of the workshop venue, coffee breaks, and lunch per each day of the workshop. Workshop registrations will be managed centrally by the ASE 2005 organising committee.
