ASE 2019
Sun 10 - Fri 15 November 2019 San Diego, California, United States

We invite you to contribute to the ASE 2019 program by submitting to one or more tracks. Please note that each track has their own submission site and submission deadlines, which are listed in the call for contributions. Please also carefully read the policies for submissions and accepted contributions at the end of this page.

ASE encourages submissions from authors who have not submitted before to ASE. If you have some questions about the tracks and the submission process, please contact the track chairs (e.g., ase19-chairs@lip6.fr for the Research Track chairs) who are listed in the corresponding call for contributions. For general questions or if you are unsure who to contact, please email the General Chair (Thomas Zimmermann).

There are several programs to help defray costs of attending ASE. For more information visit Travel Support.

Tool Demonstrations A highly interactive venue for researchers and practitioners to demonstrate their tools and discuss them with attendees.
Journal First Presentations of papers published recently in prestigious software engineering journals.
Industry Showcase Presentations by practitioners on the critical challenges that industry faces in automated software engineering, innovative solutions, and experiences from using automated software engineering at scale.
Doctoral Symposium A supportive setting for Ph.D. students to present and discuss their research with other researchers in the ASE community.
Student Research Competition A unique forum for undergraduate and graduate student to showcase their research, exchange ideas, and improve their communication skills while competing for prizes.

Workshops Workshops are an interactive forum for exchanging views, advancing ideas, and discussing preliminary results on topics related to automated software engineering. ASE 2019 has seven workshops on a wide range of topics. Find out more in the list of workshops.

General Formatting and Policies.

All submissions must be in PDF format and conform, at time of submission, to the IEEE Conference Proceedings Formatting Guidelines (title in 24pt font and full text in 10pt type, LaTeX users must use \documentclass[10pt,conference]{IEEEtran} without including the compsoc or compsocconf option).

All submissions must be in English. Submissions have page limits. For the page limits, please refer to the individual call for papers of each track. Exceeding the page limit will be grounds for rejection without review. Papers not conforming to the required style (e.g., using tighter margin) may not be considered and may be therefore desk rejected.

Papers submitted to ASE 2019 must not have been published elsewhere and must not be under review or submitted for review elsewhere when being considered for ASE 2019. Authors should be aware of the ACM Policy and Procedures on Plagiarism and the IEEE Plagiarism FAQ.

To check for double submission and plagiarism issues, the chairs reserve the right to (1) share the list of submissions with the PC Chairs of other conferences, affiliated with ACM or IEEE, with overlapping review periods and (2) use external plagiarism detection software, under contract to the ACM or IEEE, to detect violations of these policies.

Accepted contributions

At least one author of each accepted paper must register for ASE 2019 (or appropriate workshop) and present the paper in person in order for the paper to be published in the proceedings.

Note that the official publication date is the date the proceedings are made available in the Digital Library. This date may be up to two weeks prior to the first day of ASE 2019. The official publication date affects the deadline for any patent filings related to published work.

The names of authors in the camera ready version cannot be modified from the ones in the submitted version – no exceptions! Only typos in the author names can be corrected. The title can be changed only if required by the reviewers and the new title must be accepted by the track chairs.
