Abstract:
Over the past decade, software architecture has emerged as a new important topic in the field of software engineering. A lot of works have been made improving the formalisation, reasoning and analysis in the architectural level. Architectural Description Language (ADL) is a major research theme addressed by the software architecture community. Numerous ADLs have been proposed, each of them dealing with a certain issue : architectural styles, simulation, behaviour, ... Whereas all these ADLs cover a large diversity of problems, they don't seem to influence the daily industrial practice. Although industrial companies are interested in the software architecture benefits, the daily practice still remains academic. In this paper, I am going to tell you about our experiment : to answer Dassault Systèmes' needs by using a software architecture approach. This company maintains and develops a large body of software.
